  • Summer Sessions Schedule

    Summer Sessions for 2014 will begin on June 12th in the Steinbrenner Band Center. They will go from 6:30PM to 9:30PM. Percussion will begin at 6:00PM. The full schedule will be posted on this website when it is available.

  • Marching Band Receives Congressional Recognition

    The Ohio State University Marching Band was recognized in February by Marching Band alumnus and Congressman Patrick J. Tiberi during the Second Session of the U.S. House of Representatives. Tiberi honored the band for its innovation and use of technology during the 2012 and 2013 football seasons.   • Buckeye Invitational Registration

    Registration for the 2014 Buckeye Invitational will begin on April 15th, 2014. The event itself will take place on October 11th, 2014. Please note that registering for the Buckeye Invitational does not guarantee you a spot in the program. The Buckeye Invitational is an annual OMEA adjudicated high school band competition. High school bands from all over the state of Ohio are invited to compete for their place in the OMEA state competition, all in the shadows of historic Ohio Stadium. Festival class bands are also invited to apply.

  • “Tradition Through Innovation”

    It’s hard to imagine a Buckeye game day without your favorite traditions such as Script Ohio, Hang On Sloopy, and Ramp Entrance, right? Well, at one point in our history, all of these traditions were just innovations for The Ohio State University Marching Band. We’re continuing to innovate today for tomorrow’s traditions. Recently, we have begun a student-led initiative to provide each band member with an iPad that they can use to view drill charts, memorize music, and more.   • Marching Band Receives Honors from Ohio Legislature

    The Ohio State University Marching Band was honored with Resolutions from both the Ohio Senate and the Ohio House of Representatives Wednesday, December 5, 2012.

  • Jonathan Waters named Director

    October 10, 2012 – Jonathan Waters was named Director of Marching and Athletic Bands at The Ohio State University. Mr. Waters had served as Interim Director of the bands for the first half of this season. Today, Joseph Steinmetz, Dean of the OSU Colleges of Arts and Sciences, and Richard Blatti, Director of the OSU School of Music, made the announcement at the rehearsal of the marching band in the Joan Zieg Steinbrenner Band Center in Ohio Stadium.   • Marching Band Show Replay at The Gateway Film Center Every Sunday

    The Gateway Film Center and The Ohio State University Marching Band are pleased to announce a partnership for the upcoming 2012 season. Every Sunday afternoon at 12:30 PM, the film center will host a big screen encore of the halftime performance from the previous day’s game. Additionally, to make the program even better, vintage performances from the past will be screened as part of the weekly one-hour program. Tickets to the event are free and will be available each Sunday at 11:30 AM. The film center, located at 1550 N High St, Columbus, will add to the festivities by offering tailgate-like
