Organizations are strong and remain strong for one reason: its members, past and present.
Pride, tradition, and excellence come from hard work, dedication and a strong sense of purpose. This dedication is not limited to current members but also to the men and women who came before – the alumni of the OSUMB.
The TBDBITL Alumni Club is the largest single member club within The Ohio State University Alumni Association and is a vital part of the OSUMB family. The TBDBITL Club provides tremendous support for the OSUMB in a variety of ways volunteering time, expertise, professional skills and guidance to the staff and membership of the OSUMB as well as providing financial support to the band and it’s membership through scholorships funds and through the Script Ohio Club which provides financial support to maintain and purchase instruments for the band.
Many only see the OSU Alumni Band once a year at the alumni game day reunion. Here, fans are delighted as current and alumni members march side by side in four simultaneous Script Ohio’s – the ‘Quad Script Ohio.’ What these fans may not realize is that the alumni band also has many additional performances of their own. They have traveled the world over, delighting fans from as far away as Japan, Hawai’i, Great Britain, and with annual performances on the Buckeye Cruise for Cancer benefiting the Stephanie Spielman Fund for Breast Cancer Research at the Ohio State James Cancer Hospital and Solove Research Center. The Alumni Band is particularly active in the Central Ohio area with annual performances at venues such as the Columbus Park of Roses Gazebo, and patriotic holiday parades in Upper Arlington and Worthington, to name just a few.
